  • Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is emerging as more than just an airline hub. The airport is becoming a center of sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, in Europe with a new 52.5 million gallon offtake agreement between United Airlines and Neste. The producer will supply United over three years, with the U.S. carrier joining KLM and DHL Express in receiving SAF from Neste at Schiphol. European airlines are pushing EU authorities for SAF subsidies to expand production, and help the industry meet emission reduction targets.
  • Those interested in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s proposed carbon emission disclosure rules have another month to weigh in. The securities regulator has extended the comment period to June 17 from May 20 in order to give “interested persons additional time to analyze the issues.” The rules, which would require publicly listed companies in the U.S. to disclose emissions, are generally supported by airlines.
