Introducing the NEW Skift Airline Weekly!

Since Skift Airline Weekly’s launch in 2004, we’ve delivered the best weekly news and analysis about the airline industry. Over the past 15 years both the airline and the media industries have changed dramatically, so in order to better cover aviation we are improving the way we bring you insights every week. The way we consume news and interact with publications is changing fast, and if the past 15 years have taught us anything it’s that the shift to digital is a necessity. Your feedback matters to us, and we listened, so we’re announcing a more efficient and accessible change

Starting with the March 2 issue, we will publish Skift Airline Weekly online rather than as a PDF. We’ve completely relaunched our website, allowing you to sign in and read the issue on any device – computer, tablet, mobile phone. It’s the same news and analysis, just available whenever you want it and wherever you are. Thanks to our excellent design and engineering teams, the publication is now easier to read, making the information more accessible to more readers. We’ll be seamlessly integrating multimedia, links to stories we refer to, podcasts, graphics and tables, giving you our analysis in multiple formats. And all of this will be delivered to your inbox earlier in the day every Monday. For those of who like the current PDF format, you can export the publication and print it out.

Logging In for the First Time

If you’ve never logged in to Airline Weekly or set your password before, you can do the following:

  1. Can click on “Login” in the top navigation, above.
  2. Enter your email address associated with the subscription and hit “Forgot Password?”
  3. Follow the steps to reset your password via an email link and create your own. Then you’re set.

If you have issues logging in, please take advantage of the “live help” feature. You can find that in the lower left-hand side of the page.

Here are some highlights:

Digital-First

Stories, tables, and issues are easy to discover and read.

Read on desktop, laptop, and mobile without pinching and zooming (or giving up) on your PDF. The new version of Skift Airline Weekly was created to make reading it so much easier. Open it on your phone while commuting to work, quickly find the sections that matter to you, and zoom in on charts and tables.

One big change: You can read it on your mobile phone. We know that our subscribers typically open on their phone the email that announces each new issue, but then need to wait until they get to their desktop computer to actually read it.

Now, subscribers don’t have to wait.

Stories, issues, and tables are finally readable on mobile phones.

Two Ways to Read

We publish Skift Airline Weekly every Monday because we want to give you a place to discover everything you need to understand the week ahead. That’s why delivering a digital version of our weekly package was important to us. The new format allows you to read an entire issue without navigating from page to page. As you scroll down through the issue, you can expand and collapse the sections you want to read, or you can skip forward using the table of contents menu along the top of the page.

If you want to focus on one particular story, you do have the option to click through. You can also share a page from here. Readers who are not logged in can see a small preview of the story.

Archives

Moving forward, all issues will be accessible whenever and wherever you want to read them. All subscribers can also access the PDF issues from 2019. Issues prior to 2019 can be requested for a fee.

Search

For the first time, you can search.

Find brands, people, airports, and anything else you are looking for. We currently have summaries for all issues back to 2004. Search will become even more robust as more issues are converted to digital versions in the months ahead.

Added up these things are a big change for both us and our readers. While we tried to make sure everything was working right, we may have missed or overlooked something. Please don’t hesitatate to let us know what you think of the changes. My inbox is open at mu@skift.com.
